The institution is particularly sensitive to the needs of the socially and economically weaker sections of the students. It has instituted Devchandji Shah Suvarna-mahotsavi trust on 6/05/1962 and Shri. D.C.Shah and Sou. A. D. Shah trust (1983). The sole purpose of the trusts is to provide financial assistance to the needy students and to reward the meritorious students through merit scholarships. At the time of admission, the admission committee identifies the beneficiaries. The list of eligible students is forwarded to the trust. After due procedure, scholarships are disbursed in time. The institution rewards meritorious students through the trust by awarding merit scholarships to the first two toppers in each UG class. In addition, there are a number of merit scholarships which are instituted by the former faculty of the college and community members to encourage merit. The total number of such merit scholarships is 55. These are given to the students at the time of prize distribution ceremony during annual social gathering.
